Curtain headings

Heading style	Eyelet	Wave	Triple pleat	Goblet pleat	Pencil pleat	Double pleat	Pinch pleat	Cartridge pleat
Description	Metal rings are threaded directly onto the pole so the curtain hangs in soft, even folds.	The heading is sewn to create uniform, sculptural waves that run the full width of the track.	Three folds are grouped at the top of the curtain to create a full, tailored appearance.	A structured pleat is finished with a padded goblet shape at the top for a formal, decorative look.	A versatile gathered tape is pulled to the required fullness and hooks onto the track or pole.	Two folds are grouped at the top for a neat, tailored look with less fullness than triple pleat.	Pinches are sewn at the top of the curtain to create defined, tailored folds.	A neat cartridge of fabric is formed at the top for a crisp, tailored finish with even spacing.
Advantages	Cost-effective and contemporary. Easy to draw along the pole.	Modern, minimal look. Works well with plain and large-scale patterned fabrics.	Classic, luxurious finish. Holds its shape well when dressed.	Elegant and traditional. Ideal for formal rooms and period properties.	Flexible and cost-effective. Adjustable fullness on the tape.	Smart, contemporary pleat. Uses less fabric than triple pleat while still looking finished.	Timeless tailored appearance. Works in both traditional and modern rooms.	Clean, contemporary look. Works well in modern and traditional rooms.
Disadvantages	Limited heading depth. Suitable for poles only — not tracks. Only suitable for use on poles with a minimum diameter of 28mm.	Needs a compatible wave track. Less formal than pleated styles. Requires a wave or ripple track system.	Uses more fabric than simpler headings. Track selection is important.
